Ben Case

Health Policy Analyst

Ben Case is a policy analyst at CHRT on the health policy team. His work focuses on applied health policy research, evidence synthesis, and program evaluation, with particular expertise in health care affordability, access, health equity, and the social and structural factors that influence health outcomes. He is passionate about translating complex research into actionable insights that help policymakers, health care organizations, and communities make informed decisions.

Before joining CHRT, Case was a researcher with the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute’s County Health Rankings & Roadmaps for the What Works for Health program. In that role, he evaluated and synthesized evidence on more than 70 public health policies, programs, and strategies addressing health behaviors, economic and social factors, environmental conditions, community safety, and clinical care. His work supported local, state, and national decision makers in implementing evidence-based and equity-focused approaches to improving population health. He also contributed to public health research and evaluation projects, provided training for researchers and public health professionals, and supported the development of innovative tools to improve evidence curation and dissemination.

Ben also served as research manager for the Docs with Disabilities Initiative at the University of Michigan, where he led qualitative and mixed-methods research examining disability, equity, and inclusion in medical education and health care. He collaborated with a national network of investigators and co-authored research publications addressing health disparities and workforce inclusion. Earlier in his career, he managed research and evaluation activities for Wisconsin’s Department of Children and Families, supporting a federally funded study of child care subsidy policies and their impact on families. He also worked in research administration and grants management at the Medical College of Wisconsin, advising investigators on federal grant development and compliance.

Ben earned a Master of Public Health from George Washington University and a Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in Biochemistry from the University of Michigan. He has co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications spanning public health, medical education, health equity, and translational medicine.
