About CHRT

Shane Henson serves as Deputy Chief of Staff for State Senator David Knezek (D-Dearborn Heights). Senator Knezek sits on the Senate Health Policy and Appropriations committees while serving as Minority Vice Chair on the Education, Military, Veterans Affairs and Homeland Security, Energy and Technology, and the appropriations subcommittees on community colleges and State Police and Military Affairs. In this position Shane oversees Senator Knezek’s legislative priorities for Health Policy, Military, Veterans Affairs, and Homeland Security, and the Appropriations Subcommittee on State Police and Military Affairs. He also aids the Senator with constituent relations and community events in the Michigan 5th Senate District. Prior to his time in the legislature, Shane worked for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee as a Field Organizer in Illinois and Communications Director for Senator Knezek in the 2014 elections.

Shane Henson graduated from the University of Michigan-Dearborn in May 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, with minors in History and Economics. He is a resident of Livonia, Michigan.
