Elise Bur
Director of the Northern Michigan Center for Rural Health , Northern Michigan University
Elise Bur is the director of the Northern Michigan Center for Rural Health at Northern Michigan University. Bur has more than 14 years of experience in the health care industry. She has assisted with developing an integrated healthcare system consisting of primary care, behavioral health, oral health and substance use service lines within a Federally Qualified Health Center. In 2020, she developed the Northern Michigan Center for Rural Health, creating it as a collaborating center of the Michigan Center for Rural Health using the World Health Organization (WHO) framework for collaborating centers. This has resulted in an improved integrated health care network that better serves the residents of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
Bur is an advisory board member of many health care organizations.
