Emily Toth Martin, PhD is an Associate Professor of Epidemiology at the University of Michigan School of Public Health. After receiving an MPH and PhD in Epidemiology from the University of Washington, Dr. Martin has gone on to lead federally-funded laboratory and analysis research programs at Wayne State University and now at the University of Michigan focused on the molecular epidemiology of viral and bacterial pathogens and on influenza vaccine effectiveness. Dr. Martin currently participates in four CDC-funded studies of influenza vaccine effectiveness in the US and abroad, and she co-leads the HIVE study, a CDC and NIH-funded cohort study of respiratory infections and influenza vaccine in Michigan households.
