Matthew Boak

Policy Advisor , Michigan Senate Majority Policy Office

Matt has served as a policy advisor for the Michigan Senate Majority Policy Office since March of 2024. His policy areas include education, finance, insurance, and consumer protection. Additionally, he advises on budgets for the Department of Corrections; the Department of Education; the Department of Lifelong Education, Advancement, and Potential; and the Judiciary.

He previously held positions with the Michigan Department of Corrections as a legislative analyst and the Secretary of the Michigan Senate as a journal clerk, along with several internships in the Michigan House of Representatives.

Matt is also involved in his community and has served on the St. Johns Public Schools Board of Education since 2022 and currently serves as president.

Matt holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Central Michigan University and a master’s degree in public administration from Grand Valley State University.
