
Suzanne Owen
Senior Health and Equity Policy Advisor , Governor Gretchen Whitmjer
Suzanne is a senior advisor to Governor Gretchen Whitmer in the areas of health and human services with an emphasis on access to quality, affordable care. She currently serves on the Michigan Center for Rural Health Board of Directors.
Prior to joining the Executive Office of the Governor, she was Legislative Director to Congressman Elijah E. Cummings and staff to the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. Among her roles for the Congressman, she advised on health policy, with emphasis on issues of access and equity.
Suzanne also worked for the State of Maryland, beginning her career in a non-partisan legislative capacity before taking a role in the Office of the Secretary at the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.
