Theresa Uhrich

Chief Operating Officer , Region IV Area Agency on Aging

Theresa Uhrich serves as the Chief Operating Officer of Region IV Area Agency on Aging in Southwest Michigan, where she leads operations across care management, managed care programs, integrated clinical services, and community-based supports for older adults, people with disabilities, and caregivers. Her work sits at the intersection of policy and practice, with a focus on translating state and federal aging and disability policy into person-centered, operationally viable systems of care.

Uhrich brings more than a decade of experience in Michigan’s aging network, including leadership roles spanning supervision, program direction, and executive operations. She has provided testimony to the Michigan Commission on Services to the Aging, participated in statewide service standard workgroups with the Bureau of Aging, Community Living, and Supports, and regularly engages with local, state, and federal policymakers on issues related to Medicaid HCBS, caregiver support, workforce development, and community care infrastructure. Through initiatives such as social and medical care partnerships, integrated care at home, community care hub development, and caregiver-centered service models, she works to strengthen cross-sector collaboration and improve how care is coordinated, accessed, and experienced beyond traditional healthcare settings.

Uhrich holds a master’s degree in social work from the University of Wisconsin with a focus on health, aging, and disability and is committed to advancing equitable, sustainable policy solutions that reflect the lived realities of older adults, caregivers, and the workforce that supports them.
