Kelsey P. Ostergren

Kelsey P. Ostergren, MPH, CIC, currently serves as the director of health policy initiatives for the Michigan Health and Hospital Association (MHA). In this role, Ostergren provides oversight of all infection prevention activities for the association and serves as the lead for all infection prevention, infectious disease, and emerging pathogen activity for more than 180 members across the state.
During her nine-year tenure with the MHA, Ostergren has led work in healthcare quality improvement, adult education, data collection and analytics, contract management, and grant applications, and has been responsible for oversight and analysis of National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) data.
Ostergren guides policies at the state and federal level that impact daily operations of healthcare facilities and the clinicians they employ. She is passionate about using best practices in adult education to spread clinically sound, effective, just in time training to improve healthcare delivery and the patient experience.
Ostergren holds a seat on the executive board of the APIC Great Lakes Chapter (Michigan) and is a member of numerous National APIC Committees, including the Education Committee and the Emerging Infectious Disease Taskforce.
