Shayla Harrison

Shayla Harrison is a master’s degree candidate in the University of Michigan School of Public Health. She is focusing on health management and policy and is class representative for the program for the 2024-2025 school year. With a bachelor’s degree in public health science from Xavier University of Louisiana, Harrison is committed to health equity and policy advocacy. She has interned with the City of New Orleans Health Department, focusing on Black maternal health and public health education campaigns.

Currently, Harrison assists in curriculum revision at the University of Michigan School of Public Health and serves as a BBA Milestone Grader at the Ross School of Business. Harrison also holds leadership roles in the Health Policy Student Association and Public Health Students of African Descent Executive Board, advocating for student concerns and community engagement.
