Aligning Medicaid beneficiary needs with mental health service delivery standards
Medicaid beneficiaries who require applied behavior analysis services and those with intellectual or developmental disabilities receiving community living services and personal care need specific services based on their acuity levels.
CHRT will collaborate with the Kent County community mental health agency Network 180 and the Lakeshore Regional Entity to conduct a comprehensive analysis aimed at better aligning beneficiary needs with service delivery standards.
Phase I of this project (December 2024 – April 2025) will focus on:
- Identifying existing standards for service authorization in applied behavior analysis, community living services, and personal care.
- Analyzing Medicaid data to describe the current alignment between beneficiary needs and services provided.
- Developing short-term recommendations to improve alignment and efficiency.
Activities during this phase include weekly stakeholder meetings, landscape analysis of existing standards, data analysis, and the preparation of a comprehensive Phase I report summarizing findings and immediate actionable recommendations.
