Need:
The Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR), a consortium of more than 750 academic institutions and research organizations, has been selected by the National Institutes of Health to coordinate social, behavioral, and economic research on COVID-19.
An in-depth understanding of the impact of COVID-19 is essential to prepare for future health crises. This understanding will lay the foundation to be able to minimize the negative impacts of future pandemics or epidemics.
ICPSR will:
- Work to foster collaboration, innovation, and synergies across COVID-19 social, behavioral, and economic researchers funded by the NIH;
- Support networking activities to advance research and collaboration in the field and to develop and use harmonized COVID-19 data constructs to support comparability and replicability;
- Work to disseminate findings and resources to the research community and the public.
CHRT’s role:
CHRT will support ICPSR and the consortium grantees by developing reports, research briefs, infographics, and other publications to share research findings, activities, and resources.
CHRT will deliver two pieces of communication material:
- Annual meeting report sharing findings from the NIH-sponsored researchers
- Policy briefs that synthesize findings from SBE CCC research projects
